Manic Panic works best if you heat it with a hairdryer once you've applied it. It's a vegetable based dye so it doesn't have all the hardcore chemicals in it that normal hair colours do.
Red is also a bit of a notorious colour to keep in your hair anyway because red hair colour particles are smaller than other hair colour particles so they wash out easier.

I use Manic Panic Pillarbox Red and it hold in my hair REALLY well BUT, I wash my hair every other day and I was it in luke warm-cool water. I touch it up every 3 weeks or so =)

we used some purple from manic panic two days and his hair was a gross grey we then use special effects and its been over a month and the color is still so damn bright it barley faded

Just a warning: I have used the Splat Bleach and i got some on my hands and now i dont have finger prints... that shit is STRONG.

Manic panic you have to heat with a blow dryer :) That's what I do to get the bright colors.

@darknessfalls26 Yeah I used MP in UltraViolet and in the Atomic Turq. The Turq would last about two shampooings, the Ultraviolet lasted one. It was WAY too much upkeep!
