Come to Detroit sometime and view the sadly deteriorating Vanity Ballroom where the likes of Goodman, Herman, Berigan and Dorsey held forth during the thirties and forties. Ahh those were the days, virtuoso musicians, tripping the "Light Fantastic", I pray those days of big bands return or I can find the clubs in Heaven!!!

It is too bad that the Administration in Wayland Township, Michigan and the Kent County Probate Court would sanction the demolition of the Dixie Pavilion-10,000 sq ft with 5000 sq ft of hardwood dance floor. Some people will do anything to destroy other people's enjoyment. The pavilion was built in 1932.
