  • he is very nice, how do you feed him? I had trouble feeding mine and he ended up passing away.

  • ooh...i am so sorry about your ENF.

i always take him an ordinary food on the market. sometimes feed frozen bloodworms.

actually there are a several kind of tropicalfishes (corydoras, otocinclus, chinabutterfly, and more) in my watertank, they take the same foods. and they are fine!

  • loks like black knife the fish

  • @jenncook1 Other eletrical fish piss them off and I've noticed that at the pet stores when they are in groups they all clup together. The guy at the pet store proably was trying to get you to buy more.

  • @JetsMets96 Most, if not all, Elephant-Nosed Fish caught from the wild and will only accept live foods (includes frozen foods). Bloodworms, and Blackworms are the best, but over time you can convert them to dry/flake food.

  • @jenncook1 he was probably trying to get you to buy more than one. he only has is eyes on the profit. lmao :)

  • @nickparkes1 I was looking in to buying one, and I researched them before I bought one, but they swim in schools so its best to buy them in a pair of 3. They need to be with their own kind or they become depressed and will try to jump out of the tank or will just stop eating until they die. Thats what the guy at the pet store told me at least. But who knows where he got that information from. I didn't know they gave off electrical signals. But I didn't buy them anyway, I have too many other fish

  • @jenncook1 elephant nose fish shouldnt be housed with any other fish that give off electrical signals including their own kind.they use a special organ to navigate around the tank and when other fish like themselves are near them the elctrical signals can interfeer with their own and loose their way and become stressed

  • How big is your tank?

  • I can't tell but it looks like you only have one. These fish are dependent on each other to do well in a tank, if you have to have one, the minimum you should get is 3. They swim in a school in the wild, which is probably why the other posts that had only one of these fish reported them dying. They will become depressed and hide or worse die, if they don't have friends!
