@avemaria716 Irish rebellion against English tyranny IS a just cause and the English have shown over and over that they will not give up anything they've stolen peacefully. Tiocfaidh ár lá!
-
The ends do not justify the means. While the Irish Rebellion against English tyranny was certainly a just cause, the means they used were not just.

@happyman70 I read your posting and I'm sorry to say not all IRA men are killers just in any army you have men that do things that are wrong but the group as a hole has a goal of peace not war.Just like I don't hate every English soldier just because he had to take up arms agaisnt Ireland it was the few evil ones that shot kids and women in the streets thats that turn the people to hate all.Hope you don't go on hating all for the actions of few after all you should live your name happy man.

@Dragging1Canoe That's the question of the millennium my dear friend, and the answer in my opinion is....
It completely depends on what side of the line you are looking at it from. the IRA are liberators from the point of view of an Irishman that agrees with them, amongst others who agree with them. However, others would see them as terrorists because they use scare tactics to get their message across
I agree with the former as opposed to the latter my friend and so do you I take it.
-
@manoffewhomes But where is the line between terrorist and liberator?
-
@Dragging1Canoe and the american revolutionaries were also terrorists I do support the IRA cause but you have to know both groups are by definition considered terrorists.

While the bombing of innocent peoples is never something that should be touted as heroic. Sometimes, what must be done must be done. There is a War going on in Libya right now and if the U.N. and the Cowardly E.U would step in and shoot down Gadafi's planes then freedom and peace might take hold. But not, the "civilized" peoples of the world are content with sitting by and doing NOTHING. All it takes for Evil to succeed is the apathy of good men.

All this talk of bombs and such is making me thirsty. Someone fetch me the Jameson and Baileys, there's traditions to uphold.
And the Brits call the IRA terrorists! IRA is no more a terrorist organization than were the American revolutionaries. The only difference is the Irish have access to England herself, where the Americans did not.
