It's easy to swing the coil too quickly when there's a lot of ground to cover. Try picking a small area, say 20 feet square and covering it thouroughly.Concentrate on every signal, you should dig everything above iron.I'm speaking from experience, been detecting for about 20 years. Thanks for the video.

Go get yourself a Sunray probe for your MXT. I got one and was blown away on the improvement over the white's bullseye.

that nut went to the body of a swamp cooler

Great video, thanks for posting it.

I wouldn't have even bothered posting this, simply because you were just digging up junk!

I too have an MXT. It may have more bells and whistles than a beginner need. BUT, been working with a friend that has years behind him metal detecting. His simple Fisher and his experience out digs, and finds me every day. I have learned to tune my MXT to parallel his detector. Turn the Discrimination all the way up and you will find almost nothing but coins, and silver rings. No gold though and few nickels, but this is a good learning point. Today was my best day, all coins and no junk

Thanks for the video! I just bought my first detector today.
Keep on huntin, you can't get the good stuff all of the time but sometimes you can get some great stuff for the trashiest spots.

I plan on returning to this spot soon, despite the winter weather coming in. Unfortunately, my video camera stopped working. :(

Nice video, it shows the harsh reality most of us face. Not all of us can get gold rings and silver coins all the time!
If you chose the older section of the park in order to find the older coins, try slowing your sweep speed a bit. I understand how frustrating the trash can be, but you'll miss alot of deeper coins when you move quickly like that. Good luck!

Thanks for watching! I will take your advice and slow down my swing a bit in the trashy areas. When the budget allows I'm going to buy a couple more coils. Maybe the smaller 4x6 and also a Super 12.
