when u know u have an advantage. do your best 2 exploit it. Never be afraid to throw it in if you know you have an advantage.

@FrostyStarcraft As far as I know there is no definite consistent answer to that. On the Korean servers Zergs do it and on the NA servers most don't right now. Day9 has also said he's not sure which is optimal.

if you accidentally go 10 drones instead of 9, do the extractor trick, NEVER CANCEL, so you will be at 11/10 supply and then get your ovie. best case scenario

also you should get burrow & the roach upgrades. they make roaches so much better, and you can also take your opponent by surprise.

overpooling/extractor trick works well on a few specific builds but generally speaking 9 overlord is the best thing to do for a number of reasons. it's been analyzed extensively and found not to have any advantage over 9 OL.

@FrostyStarcraft Some people do it every game, some do not do it every game. It is pretty much down to style for most people. If you forget an overlord, you have to do it as you point out. Google search for "extractor trick analysis" and click on the top link to TL. Do you go to Team Liquid? How about "reddit starcraft"? You should visit both of these sites.

The keyword here is DRONES!!! Your drone count was unbelievably low. When you did your first push, you had 4 additional roaches in production that could easily have been drones. Usually when you have knowledge that he won't be getting to your base anytime soon (like when you're pushing) is an excellent time to put your extra larva towards drones, rather than just all-in and hope to win on that push. If you're still concerned about ZvZ, watch Day9 Daily 242 where he talks about ZvZ builds.

This game you needed more drones when you were pushing into his base its the perfect time to make more drones. Against roach hydra you can usually just build a lot more roaches. when you fought that battle at your base instead of running you should have just fought him and you would have probably come out with an army trade. When you go to 10 drones build the OL and single or double extractor trick to get the 1 or 2 more drones out. Also it's almost always worth it to get ling speed in ZvZ
