  • I just noticed that this guitar has 4 knobs. No clue about the 4th knob but I think it is a separate treble setting for the toggle which allowed you to have 2 pre-tone sets with the toggle. The three way toggle is "Stand By" or "total guitar off" in the middle position. I think Gretsch invented that neat little function in the pre- foot petal days of the early 60's. Kind of neat as you could get creative effects with it.

    I' pretty sure I can reconnect that circuit. I figure it failed and that's why it was clipped out of existence or maybe just a dumbass was in there and it will all be fine. The three way toggle is buggered. Hoping I can repair rather than replace.
