@Dprincess1807 canada does follow "cities" regulations my furs are sold through canada every year and they make sure that all "cities" tags are correct so no endangered species is sold as a look alike species. people who care about animals well being and populations should speak out against poaching rather than people who follow the laws of hunting and trapping. if a animal is harvested for food why should the skin be thrown away? it is more respectful to use the whole animal not just part of it

@Dprincess1807 the do miniture endangered species lists. the canadian lynx has more than healthy populations in western canada and alaska but around maine the populations are endangered but with the help of trapping of animals that compete with it for food, the populations is on the upswing. also if you get on the "cities" website that monitors animal populations you will see that it shows regions that the animals are listed as endangered.

most seal hunters use a rifle. if used right then a club can give a quick instant death, however i will say if the animal moves quick it can end up with a miss (probly why most use rifles these days). i have seen the video of animals being skinned alive and i see to many flaws making me feel it is just another hoax. also one of my comments before about the deer population, i either got the state or the city wrong (it's been about 6 or 7 years since i read the article).

@beavthetrapper I'm also not talking about only USA/CANADA when I talk about the "skinning alive". I've traveled and I've seen first hand the things that are done to these beautiful creatures just for there skin. I've also seen videos of animals having there skin ripped off then looking around after it happens. Your defending that behaviour by saying "traps are not like what the anti-fur and anti-trap organizations tell you" and what about seal clubbing? Thats humane? To beat something to death.

@beavthetrapper In my eyes there are no difference between forced prostitution, child labor, and the fur trade. They all come down to someone or something being cruelty used for people's desires (not even there needs). I'm not saying all "trappers" are cruel people, I'm saying that taking a living breathing animals life so people can make a fashion statement is disgusting. Killing an animal to put basic food on your families table is understandable, but for there fur :S

@beavthetrapper What animals are you talking about? The endangered species list is worldwide. A specific species of animal is not going to be endangered in one area and not in the other. It doesn't work that way. You honestly believe that the people trapping theses animals are thinking about there well being and killing them humanely? On top of that there is currently no federal endangered species legislation in Canada. We are "harvesting" this animals as if they are dirt on the ground.

@Dprincess1807 i myself would rather die from a bullet then starvation and the traps are for the most part painless. if we stop killing them you would soon see animals starving and diseased everywhere. look at california when the coyotes was attacking kids because there wasn't enough food for them to eat. the deer population in rhode island when they didn't allow hunters to harvest enough deer to keep population down, causing thousands of deer to starve, hundreds was found dead in a boston park.
