It shows an I2C communication between a PIC 16F877 and a DS1337. The microcontroller ask for the second and the RTC gives it on BCD format. See the code at pic16f877.dmchihuahua.com/comunicacion_i2c.htm

Well you can use MAX232 if you want to spend, but also you can interface it with transistors...

hey man. I wanna know something. I wanna interface a PIC18F with the PC via I2C. How do you know what is reading into the PC???

for PIC16F877A...which pin for the output?..are you use CCP1?

Hi, I've posted an oscilloscope trace of the i2c SDA signal for almost the same situation (mine's a 16F877A talking to a DS1307)
