Former journalist turned Internet entrepreneur Sanjeev Bikhchandani is the brains behind Naukri, a Monster.com - plus from India. The company's roller coaster success story started with funding from ICICI Venture in 2000 right before the dotcom bubble burst. Once the economy recovered, revenues began mounting quickly. in 2006, Naukri raised $6 million from Kleiner Perkins (John Doerr signed the agreement) and Sherpalo Ventures (read Ram Shriram), then went public in India later that year, eventually reaching an unsustainable market capitalization of $1 billion.
