It is used to strike a ball, usually the cue ball. Cues are tapered sticks, typically about 1.5 m (58 in) and 510--600 g (18--21 oz). Most cues are made of wood, but occasionally the wood is covered or bonded with other materials including carbon fiber, fiberglass and/or aluminum.

them cues are rubbish quality if you want a good cue get a hand made one which is 100% real wood and make sure that the butt is made of wood and not painted on.

For sure a custom made cue is a lot harder work! I know, I've watched my husband make them over the last ten years. If he had some of this equipment it would save soooo much time in the process.

I won a pool cue in a contest. It's covered in gold leaf, and has sapphires, emralds, and diamonds in the handle. What really sucks is that I don't have a pool table :(
