Taboo for the NES (1988). This is my first "review" for a game, and yes, I know it's kinda crummy, but give me time. :)

  • Damn. You know you're getting old when someone says "It was made a long time ago" and you ask them the year and they say "1988, man!"

Being born 6 years prior to '88 makes me feel very old!

  • Lol, well, 20 years is ago is "a long time ago" to me, lol. I was born in 1987, so you're not that old. xD

  • YAY! A female game reviewer :) We need more female game reviewers like you. I like your texas accent :)

  • Lol, thanks. I'm from Alabama, tbh. :)

  • Heh, just a general tip: don't tell us you're doing a second take. You could go ahead and fool us into thinking it's your first. Otherwise, pretty good stuff considering it's your first commentary video. You seem pretty comfortable doing this.

  • Thanks, rom. Point taken. I'll refrain from letting you know... that way you can think I actually know what I'm doing. Hehehe. n_n

  • In the wise word of the Angry Nintendo Nerd: WHAT WERE THEY THINKING?

What, you think I was going to curse? Me? Say "You gotta be-

(TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES. WE'LL BE BACK IN A FEW SECONDS. PLEASE STANDBY.)

    -kidding me!"?

Good review, by the way. And your voice is good too. (/flirty lil' me)

  • There actually is an underlying game with Tarot cards! The Tarot was originally created for playing a card game similar to Spades. Fortune telling with Tarot cards only began to be practiced centuries after the creation of the deck. Tarot card games are still played today in France, Italy and central Europe. However Tarot card games are not well known in the US or in most countries outside Europe so the only concept we have of Tarot is of the fortune telling practices.

  • A typical game of Taboo: The Sixth Sense. -Turn console on. -Enter name, birthday, and sex. -Ask question. (EXAMPLE: Who the fuck made this mess?) -Watch unskippable tarot card shuffling scene. -Sit through 10 cards being read. -Enter state. (Odds your state wasn't included in choices: Pretty fucking good.) -Receive lucky lottery numbers. -Wonder why your initial question was never answered. -Lose $5 playing lucky lottery number on Mega Millions or Powerball. Now, isn't that fun?

  • This game was made because there were some real assholes at Tradewest and Rare at the time.

Incidentally, my question for that game was, "Who created this fucking atrocity?" They didn't feel like answering me, either.

  • The onscreen copyright is 1988 but the game was actually released in April 1989.

  • ....Whoever decided to make this game was on drugs o_O
