It is much nicer to work on a clean engine, than a dirty, filthy, greasy engine. And a clean engine compartment just looks nicer anyway. In this video, I show you how to easily clean your engine compartment.

  • Driving a clean car is just nicer than driving a dirty one. It's all the subtle detailing that makes the difference. Yeah, no one else sees it, except maybe my mechanics, but I know it's clean. And it makes it easier to work on, when I get in there to do stuff. And if my car does start leaking something, it will be easier to spot.

  • is this safe to do? and if it is do i cover my short ram intake to?

  • Is this reasonably safe to do on an old vehicle (1993), or could we expect some of the casings for electrical components to be excessively degraded ?

  • @kornfan43107 no, its fine.

  • @masterautotech11 Or you could just cover the alt with a plastic bag before you start, because it takes all of 5 seconds. Battery though I agree, I've never bothered covering it.

  • Don't, nothing but harmful, people buy shiny things.

  • @masterautotech11 considering i have a CAI... and soon to be turbo... i think imma cover shome sh*t.. just saying

  • HellaStock :)

  • What about the computers??? my stratus has 2 computers.

  • I hate it when people like this guy gives bad advice. Do not cover anything. Just clean it and use a pressure washer if you have one. It is imposable to hurt a battery or alternator. Yes the cap will need to come off to wipe out the water. No big deal, just a few screws.

All dealerships do it this way all day long.
