  • loved the video but the camera quality sucked, hope to see more vids soon

  • @hankhillarlentexas

We were using videotape back then. We shoot in HD now. Last year, we had access to a RED camera, so our film quality issues are behind us.

  • I loved this. I don't understand-I thought machine guns were "illegal" in California?

  • @norseleague

They are, except for Class III Firearms licensees, which allow machine guns. Class III licensees are hard to get and VERY expensive to maintain. Probably the only people who have them are armorers who supply the movie industry with automatic weapons.

  • I'm a major collector...have been so for 30 years. I have helmets, uniforms, 98ks, P08s, P38s,G43s,MG34s42s, Wehrmact, Luftwaffe, Kreigsmarine, SS, hats, daggers, Soldbuchs....god, everything in every nook and cranny of my house...BUT, I am a curator of history. These coconuts...in way too deep. And, yes, we should have listened to Patton re: the Russians. Look at the problems today...nevermind since 1945 we've faced. Guys - you're in too deep.

  • @alteelfer1

Patton was a goofball. Besides that idea that we don't attack our allies, there's the practical matter of logistics, which is how wars are won or lost. if we had attacked the Soviet Union, the US army would probably have mutinied. The supply lines into Russia would have been disastrously long.

Napoleon lost on his way into Russia. Hitler following him into defeat. We would have been next.

Everyone was sick of war and no one except Patton had the stomach for more of it.

  • You raise an interesting question and I have no answer. The helmets are cool, as are the tanks, airplanes, battleships, etc. It may have something to do with "the crusade against communism" or other political issues. Almost no one in the US admires Nazi philosophy or defends Germany's record of aggressive war or the Holocast. Yet, this fascination with the Wehrmacht remains (NOT the NSDAP).

The good news is that it is harmless.

  • @hansbeerbaum I dunno. I like the videotape quality of this.

It gives it a more ciema like feel to it.

  • @hansbeerbaum And I think all guns were loaded with blanks instead of live ammo for the movie. Only police and army use all kinds of such guns.

Here in Britain, all guns were banned after the Hungerford disaster where a man used guns to kill innocent people before he kill himself about 20 years ago.

  • @jphill4 America, evidently. To shoulder the burden of some of THEIR Dirty Work.

  • @hansbeerbaum We would have had the logistics to do it; the problem is that the british likely would not hav joined in fighting the russians and the french..well, who wants them anyway.

  • @PKemmerich

The Wehrmacht lost the war but they won plenty of skirmishes along the way.
