While traveling, I was fortunate enough to receive an invitation to visit the communal living wonder that is La Selva. After a beautiful drive down Highway 1, I reached Watsonville, CA, and eventually La Selva, where public radio producer Nikki Silva, greeted me and showed me around.

  • I don't understand the point of having a communal shower room. If the houses have sinks and toilets then why not a shower too? What purpose does it serve to shower together?
