Little howling & moaning from the Crescent City via London, England - with just the right dose of sway. :) Great feel here.
The personell for this December, 1947 session are:
Sidney Bechet - soprano sax
Milton "Mezz" Mezzrow - clarinet
Sam Price - piano
George "Pops" Foster - bass
Kaiser Marshall - drums

Yeha, Mezz doesn't get nearly the respect he deserves for his work behind the scenes - organizing sessions, mentoring etc. He was even present at 18 year old Gene Krupa's first recording session in December, 1927 - it was with "McKenzie & Condon's Chicagoans" & Mezz was in the backgroud, playing cymbal. :)

At that time, wouldn't a title like "Funky Butt" be frowned upon?

Little correction. That's cerainly not "Funky Butt" (which as it suggests is a more uptempo stomp), but "Where am I?" - far bluesier, and more existential ;o)
