@SweetJaneofGoth She must have had sex with someone, you're here.

Ya gotta remember, the Rambler had a bigger and more powerful engine than the Comet, and the Comet taillights were cribbed directly from the 1960 Edsel, which the Comet was intended to replace. Early Comet styling studies carried the Edsel name script and even a vertical center grille divider.
Rambler offered overdrive, and the available automatic transmission was a three-speed Borg-Warner unit instead of a two-speed.
And who says greater overall length is a virtue to a smaller car buyer?

@61thirftpower And like my grandma had sex in a Rambler
-
@radiotubes Yeah but like which car is better for sex?
-
@KDoyle4 My grandpap says they also don't mention that the Rambler is shit
-
Of couse they didn't mention that the Rambler has 127 horsepower standard, the Comet has 85. Also the Rambler has a 3-speed automatic, the Comet has a 2-speed. The Rambler also offered their famous fully reclining seats. They are both nice cars and this is a facinating look at history, thanks for posting.

@bigcrowfly The original Comet even used left over tail light lenses from the 1960 Edsel
-
The first Comets were originally planned to be compact Edsels, that is why they have the angled tail lights and gunsite ornaments. When they cancelled the Edsel, they had to do a last minute change to calling it a Comet. Just substituted name since they both have 5 letters, and did not badge as Mercury till later.

Rambler more reliable and also safty concious.Duel master cylinder. Think ill go for the rambler especilly comparing to major giant mercury.
If you want something that looks like your grandma should be driving it, go Rambler

I had to change the leaf springs in my 61 Comet but they did not break, they just were sagging. No rust though after all these years!
