Ingredients:
5 or more tablespoons butter
2 pounds or 3 fennel bulbs
3 Tablespoons sugar
1 cup chicken broth
3 Tablespoons lemon juice

1 cup clam juice
2 large mushrooms
6 Tablespoons vermouth
1 teaspoon curry powder
1 shallot
1/4 cup cream
6 Tablespoons butter
scallops
salt and pepper

  • I've never even heard of fennel... Now my OCD self has to try it. I'm interested in how the flavors will compliment each other because I love scallops.

  • I've always wanted to try fennel so thanks for showing how you do it. What does it taste like? Can you describe it? Like Onion? It looks like a giant skinless Onion. LOL

  • When fennel is raw, it smells just like licorice when you chop it up, ugh.

    But when you cook it then it smells good.

    I would say the taste is like 1/2 cabbage and 1/2 onion.
