Duff's Garage is one of Portland's most well-attended blues and rockabilly clubs. National artists show up once a month as well as regional bands such as the DK Sextet. One of the few local clubs this band works on a regular basis, Duff's is just a great hang with a well-stocked bar and good-sized dance floors. Dancers claim to enjoy the band due to the variety of throbbing rhythms that come from the bandstand on any given evening. Peter Dammann shows off his amazing talent for interpretation during his dynamic solo in this Jimmy Rushing tune. "Evenin'" was originally released as a ballad until T-Bone Walker added his style to the tune and the DK Band further enhanced the arrangement with horn lines and piano driven changes to fit its form. Chris Mercer on the Sax and Joe McCarthy on Trumpet blend well as the "Soul Survivor Horns" as the mighty Don Campbell on bass and dynamic Cory Burden on drums lay down a solid foundation for creativity and expression in this video taken in 2009.
