@trishtootle, @zenalamek - Never found any tutorial for needle placement - you think they would put that in with the pleater?! I fiddled around with it till I figured it out. If you have a sewing store in your area often you can ask if anyone can show you how to use the pleater (usually a private lesson for $) Have to say pleating machines are not fun nor easy especially if trying to put a bishop around a dowel rod then through the machine. Once you make error there is no going back!

@ithienwood Did you find any picture for inserting new needles, please? I have just broken several and cannot get the new needles in properly. Do you thread your needles from front to back or from back to front?

Can you leave in the extra needles when pleating? I heard you shouldn't do that. Does it matter? Also, as a totally new owner of the Super Amanda Jane Pleater would be wonderful to show how to place needles in the pleater. I could not find any video or diagram for the correct way of inserting the needles. I love your videos. You are directions are so clear and the camera angles are super. Thank you for posting.
Excellent refresher video. I agree with others that your instructions are clear and precise. changing of the camera angles is also helpful. I'm going to copy your pleater stand with your permission as it's the best one I've ever seen. You are an excellent instructor.

@PandaBeafr Thanks!! You can also purchase the pleater stand - I think AllBrands carries it - it's called a SmocknGenie

Is it possible to pleat without that machine?

You can, but you will have to buy the iron on dots - I think Clotilde carries them.
