  • Sukhvinder Singh Namdhari is playing at The Vortex on Weds 5th Oct. £12. For bookings and more info call 020 7254 4097.

  • There is something so epic about Ustad ji's presence especially when he plays Jori, so beautiful yet so powerful

  • The recital I am referring to is Tribute to the Late Pandit Kishan Maharaj - chakardar concert (19.07.08). Try pasting it in as for some reason it wont let me paste the URL

Listen to the first recital. Real masters will know the timing is out at the beginning but this guy carries on in the hope that it will fit in somewhere. He even messes up the first time he tries to play it. To put him in the same league as Anindo and Zakir just shows your lack of knowledge of tabla.

  • @SuperFlashman123

This just shows that you don't know much about this man. I think it's very safe to assume he's up there with likes of Zakir Ji and Anindo Ji. Albeit, a different style-but hey, that's not a bad thing, now is it? In fact, I like his pure benares style of playing more than that of Anindo Chatterjee's.

To address your second point, I don't see him mess up much at all. Can you post the link or video which shows this? Thanks.

  • He's Middleweight. Anindo is Heavyweight. This guy messes up alot. Anindo is perfect. The pure pinnacle of Tabla.

  • What he is playing there is not a tabla but a jori packowage :)

  • @gusheneshin go to banaras... there is no other gharana there. I feel a better statement would be: he is one of the best reps of the gharana.

  • Kya baat hai sir, Tussi really g r e a t ho
