It sounds like the heads on your toms are tuned too tight. That tends to choke a drum. Keep practicing and make sure to learn your rudiments.

you seem like you are playing it wierd. I dont play drums but when i listen to the song it sounds like he is doing paradiddles with the bass and toms. I could be wrong.
