Samsung LN40A550 "C" Panel and "S" Panel Comparison

There are many different panels for the Samsung LN40A550 and here is a comparison to of the "C" panel and the "S" panel. The "S" panel is known to look better. I purchased two of the exact same model and hooked them both up via a splitter using the *exact* same cabling and set both tvs to factory settings. The "S" panel is on the right and the "C" panel is on the left. The "S" panel looks noticibly better... So, if your in the market for this (great) tv, try to get the "S" panel if you can.

*I got the "S" panel from Circuit City in December 2008 and the "C" panel from Newegg also in December 2008.

@lickalotapus420 I have no reason to just lie to you and make the settings different. They were both reset to factory presets.

Okay, so is somebody going to actual tell us how to identify a "S" panel before actual buying it so we dont end up with a "C" panel??

The position of the camera makes a significant difference to visual quality. You should have put the camera in the center. The S looks better because the camera is right in front of it.

i never realiz=sed this i just checked and i got an S,, sweet. Thanks circuit city. Ive read alot of people hating on samsung but ive had cell phones, tvs, cameras and computers from them and they're all awesome quality. and most problems they have are very easy to fix

@LCCDrummer If you are happy with the PQ of your tv than it doesn't matter whether it is C panel, S panel, B panel, J panel etc. Just look at the PQ of your tv and see if you are satisfied. I got an A panel and people say it isn't good but my jaw dropped when I saw a 720p movie. I said screw this panel lottery BS since my tv looked great even if it was an A panel. S panel wouldn't be earth shattering in difference.

Thanks for pointing out the S / C panel's difference but i still cant figure out which 1 i'm having.... Like most of us.... HOW to find out as the label behind dont tell!
