His Excellency, Pierre Vimont, Ambassador of France to the United States, speaks about Dobbs Ferry and the French and American alliance during the Revolutionary War at a Washington-Rochambeau National Historic Trail celebration on July 25, 2009, at the site of the Dobbs Ferry redoubt of 1781. To the ambassador's right are Congresswoman Lowey and Congressman Hinchey in the first row, and in the second row Bettina Speyer, who read a proclamation in French honoring Ambassador Vimont. To the ambassador's left in the first row are Mayor Seskin of Dobbs Ferry and New York State Senator Stewart-Cousins, and in the second row, Maria Harris, Vice President of the Dobbs Ferry Historical Society.
