Can you imagine revealing your innermost secret to millions of total strangers? Or perhaps opening you mailbox to find a thousand postcards containing other peoples secrets?
For Frank Warren, PostSecret was an experimental art project that began in 2005 when he distributed blank postcards to strangers in Washington, D.C. asking them to send him their secrets. He posts the cards in his blog, exhibits them at galleries and arts shows and has compiled some of them into books. This once simple project has become an international phenomenon and years later is still going strong.
On this episode of Campus Conversations we talk to PostSecret creator Frank Warren and visit with Dr. Melissa McCeney to discuss the psychology of the disclosing secrets and the possible reasons for the popularity of the project and its website, PostSecret.com .
