  • band is called YMO: Yellow Magic Orchestra. They're from Japan. Ryuichi Sakamoto has had a great solo career, and the other two guys Haruomi Hosono & Yukahaki Takahashi have worked with some great bands/songwriters. Look up: David Sylvian: Bamboo Houses & Heartbeat & his newest with Sakamoto "World Citizen"

  • top marks but what is this song called? I've always liked Art of noise & similar stuff. I even liked Sakamoto but didnt know it he was related.

  • Its called firecracker after computer games

  • da,n it will never be found. This must be one of teh greatest ancient music videos & nobody including all music lovers across the world know what this music is called. I have created a simple request into a huge mystery.

  • I don't know, I pray you find help for your search, I loved this song when I was younger, it's so strange that we're both in the same situation! I remember it and loved it , thanks very much for that nastalgic moment!

  • I don't know whether it was 808 state that did pacific with that rainforest feel. But it has that cool twilight zone feel to it & that beautiful bird that I envy that can just fly gracefully all over luminescent mountains & cool streams. It was next to Laurie Anderson when I taped it.

  • Yes and no. In the US, it was called Computergame (theme from the circus) but it was actually called firecracker since theme from the circus and firecracker was released as one single. I and many YMO fans here in the US thought firecracker and theme fromthe circus were one and the same-we were wrong. And yes, the band is Yellow Magic Orchestra or YMO.

  • J-Lo sampled this afaik. YMO are a big influence on modern music, check out Rydeen, Behind The Mask (as covered ny Eric Clapton) and more. You won't be disapointed!

  • thank you

  • Sakamoto DID make this awesome band!!! Irreplacable!!!

  • They used to play this in a place known as 'Gangsters' in Sheffield, England (Diner/Restaurant) back in 1981/2, to a laser light show,

The track was entitled "COMPUTER GAME (THEME FROM THE INVADERS")and on A & M Records, AMS 7502. It peaked at no. 17 in the UK Singles Charts in 1980, spending 11 wks within it's Top 75!

  • This is like 30 years old. Sounds like the intro to JLo's song.

Inspired by Martin Denny's (the exotica guy)Firecracker. But the Computer games have the firecracker effects in it. I'm confused now.
