@BeckRosatoLewis I'll 2nd this! Even with a 1" needle I only stick it in 1/2 way. I've been doing this (alternating thighs & location w/in the muscle) for about 6 years with no problem.

@adt2010 Yea I asked my Dr. about sub Q and she said "No" I stick with IMS. Depending how large someones thigh muscles are, it is not necessary to stick the needle in even 1/2 way. Nurse told me 4 months ago, "I don't know why they give you all such large injection needles. It is not necessary to insert the entire thing in" I have been alternating thighs and have administered 17 shots myself with never a complication.

Maybe you can switch to IM injections? using a 1" or 1.5" needle? That's how I do mine....
