I worked there in appetizers back in 1976-79. Joe Joe Jr, Bobby, Allen, Adelle, what great times, I still make kibbe port said and the lamb stew for myself
@dreamsicleboy Joe was an amazing man, he was like an uncle to me. So very kind and generous. I was so sad when they closed the El it was a big part of my life from the time I was a young girl until my early 20's.
I loved working for the Aboody family. In a way they were like my extended family because I had known them my entire life. My parents used to dine at the original restaurant and adored the quaint atmosphere. They still loved the El when it grew up big on the hill. Some wonderful memories were made on that corner of Wall Street!!
@Mikakk2 I used to work there in 83/84... is it possible we knew each other? What did you do for work there? Are you stil in touch with anyone else that worked there back then? I've been tripping down memory lane for a variety of reasons and am trying to reconnect to the people and places in my past that helped make me who I am today.
To Bad, So Sad, The Aboodys were great people of that time. But o how times have changed. The city of Worcester MA. is the SHITHOLE of TAXachussette, You have shit places to eat like VIA-SHIT HOLE -CHOP 111- SHIT HOLE MAX SILVERMANS SHITHOLE AND SO ON dont waste your time .
yo if your ever with a girl you really like take her to el morroco, even though its closed, go in the back and climb the fence gaurding the generator, you can get on top of the building but dont walk in middle, its dangerous, take her to the front and its the best fucking view of worcester that ive ever seen, you will make that chick go crazy for you! believe me!

Wow... I miss this place so so very much. The El was so much a part of my life, and Joe was a friend and mentor that changed my life.
