  • That was great!! I like how you had the radio traffic. We need more vides like this. Thank you!!

  • I like how you included the radio in this one.

  • Brush fires in California are brutal..That's all CA is is Scrub pine and brush that burns really hot. I don't second guess their use of aerial assult.

  • I think the red stuff is coloring that they put in the water so they Know to see where they are puting water

  • @sanderke121 they put it on surrounding areas to prevent the fire from spreading

  • this is where imma be workin in 4 years!

  • You have to realize that there are 40 or 50 million people in CA, not a lot of open space, that and fire season starts in March, and ends in December. Australia has a little more space to let things play out.

  • Seriously fully relying on air attack is abit of an overkill for a grassfire here in South Australia we can rely fire appliances to do the first attack and normally have it knocked down in the first 10-20 minutes

The only time we ask for air attack is when it takes off in the blink of an eye in scrub or pines

  • @TravisDMeier Travis, the problem is you "don't" have it right. This video shows a fire with relatively slow spread rates, but many of Cali's fires have ANYTHING but slow spread rates. Their initial response to vegetation fires though perhaps big in comparison to some volly bunch like your own, is done out of learned necessity from fires in "their" ecosystem... their fuels... their weather... not Alberta's. You need a little more humility and education.

  • @Timtenbits blah blah blah... you and your volly crew could save the world... we get it... meanwhile Calfire and other California FDs are fighting potentially catastrophic fire conditions EVERY summer... they hit them hard and contain a vast majority of them BEFORE they go big... You don't know what the heck you are even talking about
