This is the track by Periphery called Jetpacks Was Yes. The video was released in January 2011. All rights reserved to their respected owners Periphery and Sumerian Records.

You can pick up their CD at some Hot Topic stores or you can buy CD's, Shirts, Hoodie's, and more here http://www.allinmerch.com/category/PER.html

Periphery was formed by guitarist Misha Mansoor in 2005. He slowly gained a reputation on the Internet, primarily via a regularly-updated Soundclick account, Meshuggah and John Petrucci forums, and the sevenstring.org message boards. Before and during Periphery's tenure in the metal scene, Mansoor developed a reputation for doing his own audio production, the majority of which was performed with a home computer and a Pod XT during this period. Mansoor has continued to update his personal project, Bulb, which preceded Periphery, often transferring songs between the two projects. Mansoor continues to be involved in a number of other musical projects, including Haunted Shores with Mark Holcomb, Being (a space-prog metal outfit), and Of Man Not of Machine with Elliot Coleman (Sky Eats Airplane) and Holcomb.

  • @SuperchargedXX I always took this song as kind of showing Spencer off a little, you know? This tune is not difficult instrumentally, making it a perfect opportunity for Spencer to show off his chops. I enjoy the changes, but everyone develops their own opinion, so it's no big deal :)

  • Anyone know the lyrics to the new verse?

  • this is undoubtedly the best song I've heard from periphery so far... Too bad all of their songs aren't as good as this one.

  • What of this illusion I've come to know?

    It's not the same

    Holding back the distance memories

Presently I've found I am not alone

In a world of infinity sewn

  • "and what of this illusion I've come to know? its not the same. holding back the distant memories..." something somethiiinng. hahah guys what does he say RIGHT after memories? D:

but not 100%. They had a lot of emotion in the original, and even more emotion and movement in this version, but I still didn't dig the whole package. I still stand behind these guys 100% though because regardless of a few vocal or instrumental dislikes, they still average out "Bad ass" to me. Maybe not to YOU, but to ME, Periphery is a Yes!

  • Taking screaming out is usually to bring in a more broad range of new fans. Namely the type of people who don't typically listen to heavy music or screaming; They hear this and buy the album because they think "Oh, this heavy stuff isn't that bad after all." Then they get the real deal, which still would seem rather acceptable to most people in my opinion. Periphery will likely still perform the old version live, unless their management or label advise otherwise. I like most of the new vocals,

  • Badass!
