sorry didnt read the discrition... there is alot to tuning a q-jet... one of the reasons they were not a favorit but once u understand and can tune a q-jet. they are great

sounds like ur timing is off, and prob u quadrajet isnt tuned correctly

In this video the problem was the timing. It was too far retarded. After fidling around with it the engine ran like a champ. Unfortunately, that's not the case anymore. Not quite sure what it could be. The car has been parked during the winter, and now it really struggles under load, and backfires when going up hills givng it part throttle at low rpm. A bit more advancing has helped. Could be timing or ignition, could be a vacuum leak or the egr. I'll start by replacing above mentioned parts.
