Hours after the eviction deadline of 12:01 a.m., November 13th, Portland Police interact with protesters, attempting to push the crowd out of the streets. A police officer was injured shortly before 2 a.m. by a projectile thrown from the crowd. As tension rose, police arrested a 23-year-old man and warned demonstrators they would be subject to arrest or chemical agents.

I count myself among the 95% who think these self-proclaimed 99%'ers are disruptive lunatics without a valid cause. While reaping the benefits of a society they hate, none offer a workable alternative. Thus, their goal is solely to destroy, not build. With more like this in our past, our modern world, as we know it (technology, science, theology, etc), would not exist. Instead, we'd likely be living as savage pagans, sacrificing humans and protesting those greedy enough to discover fire.

We're not seeing the tax dollars used for our benefit anyway. So what if hundreds of thousands of dollars were used in this incident. Money would have just gone to the 1% to pad their pockets, put granite on their public buildings and supply more pigs to attempt to keep the rest of us down.

They did over a hundred thousand dollars damage to the park and cost the city nearly half a million dollars in overtime for the Portland Police patrols needed to make sure it remained a peaceful demonstration. They cost an additional eighty thousand dollars in cleanup labor and materials, to include HAZMAT. And we, the taxpayers, the "99%" get to pay for all of it. They're still around, too, popping up here and there. And not one person other than they themselves seem to notice much.

Exactly. It's extremely counterproductive and they're actually getting the exact opposite of the results they claim to be after. A lot of them, as I just said to someone else, are operating under the pretense of what they claim to be the occupy "ideologies," but they have different motives. Many of them are just looking for an excuse to wreak havoc and cause trouble. Sad but true. I live in the same area, so I definitely can relate.
