Hello, here is a little video about my 1969 Citroen Ami 8 Saloon. My Dad has owned the car for around 10 years, and was given to him by one of his customers. The car needed quite a lot of money spending on it, and i guess the previous owner couldn't spend it. My dad tried to start it about 5 years ago, and rust dropped into the engine, seizing it solid, he rebuilt the engine, so that it ran like a new car afterwards, it was then put into storage, and forgotten about. A few months ago i asked my dad about this strange little french car, and i suddenly decided to rescue it, i instantly fell in love with the car, and spent every spare minute rebuilding it. When the car was found, it was in a bad way, and the early pictures of it are still after many hours of rebuilding. The car is now nearly finished, and the rear wings need painting, after that, i have some more little things to do, and it will be finished.
I hope you enjoy the video.

  • I noticecd that the front wheel wells on this Ami are painted black, is that original? I have seen some that have that and others that don't. The years just don't match. By the way did you have to do some serious restoration like rust care and repainting it?

Thank you so much in advance.

  • Nice job. Definitely looking forward to part 2. :D
