I don't make the rules. As I said before, if AWSA doesn;t want to enforce them, then I sure don't care. I do know that if I ever screw up and "thump" a buoy as THIS driver did at EVERY gate, I would be catching hell.
@matismf Have you driven anyone into 41? That was Will Bush driving, drives alot of the pro events, one of the best. I've driven 34 and 36 mph skiers into 41 and its not an easy job. If you can do better, post it.
Watch the nose of the boat. The driver had the nose down the centerline, he can't control the tail swing of the boat any better than what he did. Watch the nose when the skier is out at the ball, the only way it could have been better is if the boat was setup with more rudder torque, or another boat altogether.
@SharkGTS The boat swerves towards the skier at :06, :10, :13, :16; :18, and :23, and hits the FAVORABLE side gate buoy at EVERY ONE of those points. But if that's good enough for AWSA, well then what the heck.
Bloody good driving! Nate smith is a legit pro slalom skier. If anyone bags that driving they are total tire kickers!

Pretty solid driving, little bit of drift, but that is just being soft on the skier. Right down the middle.

Driving 41 doesn't get much better than that. And skiing 41 doesn't get much better than that.
