  • @harrykid Pretty much so. Running it through any water activated carbon filter will pretty much do the trick.

  • @harrykid It will need to be replaced after a few times or so many gallons. I ran about 20 through mine and then replaced it. As for the plastic yea I would be worried if it was sitting in there for days but you are talking about a few minutes contact and there are other plastic carbon filters on the market too so I don't see a problem. Like I said, it's not spending days in the bucket or around the gasket.

  • @blackdre36 I'm sure you can. I believe Myth Busters did an episode where the refiltered low quality vodka and made it better using a britta water pitcher but they only hold so much and I wanted to do 3 or 4 gallons at a time.

  • No it doesn't. It is just a homemade filter to remove some of the impurities after distilling your spirits.

  • I cant understand why you need to filter it. I need to filter mine becuase its homemade but store-bought alcohol?

  • ok 2 ?,, is the filter reusable , caz i know if ya use activated charcol it should be replaced after use,, ? 2 ,, if you are worried about your alch leaching things from your gasket dont you think it will leach toxins from your non food grade plastic buckets or the plastic piping your using
