I made sure to stop by the Monty on this year's fair in Tilburg, recorded all of this, and ran into Robin as well! Nice sounds at the back of the organ from all of the valves underneath the pipes clicking, and a beautiful organ.

Sorry, but they played the same song a couple of times in the beginning. I hope you don't mind, as it isn't that bad of a song anyway.

N.B. The 24th of July, 2007 was the Monty's 60th Birthday!

  • The reason that some songs are played double comes from a time long ago when people had to pay for each song. A man or women with a collecters bag came between the dancing people on the dancefloor and let them pay for each song. This was called "HALF UIT" (half out), you can still hear the old folks shouting that when they like the song. It has a strange effect when you shout it somwhere else for example in Waldkirch at the organfestival, mostly the people want you to explain this phenomenon.

  • The organ has to much pressure, the accordeons are not out of tune, the organ itself is!

Its been tuned with to warm weather in 2002.

Sinds the owner died in 2003 the familie do ther best to keep it going.

But it needs a all over tuning.

  • the 'monty'looks like to have allot of tunes!.....

  • It´s gret to hear this machine and spacially the song blijf bij mij, here in mexico was called "quizas si quizas no" and was performed in spanish by Sabu, but the original version it´s in italian and it´s called "forse"

  • That's what I said. But originally these were designed to produce about twice the amount of air they could possibly need. Of course, about 30 years of continuous play and 2 extra accordeons later, many things will have gotten clogged up with dust.

  • Organpibes go out of tune when the air pressure is too low. In old theatreorgans the vibrato was made by oscillating the air pressure back and forth between low and normal pressure. Maybe there simply isn't enough air to run the pibes and the accordeons at the same time.
