Filmed in 1970 for Peace Corps Liberia. This short training film was used for orientation purposes for Peace Corps Volunteers who would be stationed up-country or in the capital city. Rocky Schwarz (Group 16) was a teacher in Monrovia while Constance Ford (Group 13) was stationed in Suakoko, Bong County, about 110 miles up-country. Originally the film was silent so that trainers could talk about the similarities and differences in the two lifestyles. It also serves as a reminder of what LIberia was like in the simpler days before the civil war.

  • You were PC before PC was PC.

  • This was back in the day when it was cool to be an American, and to ask what you could do for your country. Thank you, Peace Corps workers!
