Filmed in 1970 for Peace Corps Liberia. This short training film was used for orientation purposes for Peace Corps Volunteers who would be stationed up-country or in the capital city. Rocky Schwarz (Group 16) was a teacher in Monrovia while Constance Ford (Group 13) was stationed in Suakoko, Bong County, about 110 miles up-country. Originally the film was silent so that trainers could talk about the similarities and differences in the two lifestyles. It also serves as a reminder of what LIberia was like in the simpler days before the civil war.
You were PC before PC was PC.

This was back in the day when it was cool to be an American, and to ask what you could do for your country. Thank you, Peace Corps workers!
