Its absoultely true that we shouldnt be giving labels for kids unnecessarily but do remember that majority of kids labelled as such are 'KIDS who need help'. It is the perception of mental illness by the public which is at fault and not the condition itself. If a child gets MEASLES, MUMPS or CHICKEN POX, we dont see a campaign of a similar sort where a child tears up MUMPS OR CHICKEN POX. The reason is because of the stigma we attach to the condition. Lets FIGHT the STIGMA instead! R U READY??

@dervishmadwhirler It's a diagnosis you can get by having certain traits (check up ADHD on wikipedia you dumb ass). No, you can't "threat" ADHD, ADD and GAD with a dietry change. If you have a phobia for everything, a dietry change won't help. I hope that you don't have anything to do with schools or health care, that'd be dangerous and make kids lives hard. As I said, GAD can be threated with KBT - but you don't know what that is, liar. You do not have a psy degree, liar.

@ZeusDeusEx GAD does not have to be treated with mind altering addictive drugs; it can easily be avoided by taking every known irritant out of one's diet.

Anxiety is a stress-related disorder; taking stress related chemicals out of one's diet is the cure. Many people are mildly allergic to many compounds in our food. Recognizing people's sensitivities to them is all that is needed.

SAD, GAD, ADD, ADHD...any stress related disorder can be helped by a dietary change.

If you are a kid, I cant see what your issue is; I am not connected with the Nutbag church of appliantology. I just happen to have studied psychology and basically, there is NO psychologist who will ever claim psychology to be science; there are no scientific tests which can prove any of the theories...brain- and neuro- chemistry are still quite murky to science. Psycho-pharmacology is even murkier; the drugs used in psychiatry cannot be statistically shown to work.

@ZeusDeusEx Umm...no, it isnt. The only science in psychiatry is the medicines; the chemistry; not the psychopharmacology. I have studied psychology, psychopharmacology, chemistry and biology. I work with people who were diagnosed to have a modern 'disorder', but for whom the shrink and the drugs dont work.

Psychology is NOT a science; it can never be empirically proven, nor can tests be devised to prove the efficacy of the drugs prescribed.

What is a CoS, by the way?
