On November 30, 2011, Metro celebrated the complete installation and operation of three brand new escalators at Foggy Bottom-GWU Metro station. General Manager Rich Sarles thanked, among others, our customers for their patience and understanding while we worked to install these transit grade escalators featuring industrial-strength parts to help move the nearly 20,000 daily users of the station.

Yep, $2.25 for the NYC Subway, what should happen is a flat fare within D.C./or/within VA/or/within MD but with additional interstate surcharge. E.G. : $2.75 flat + 50 cents interstate surcharge when crossing state lines. I hate MetroRail's fare structure and the price.
