Musical Elisabeth - Mama, waar ben je?

Dutch title: Mama, waar ben je?
English title: Mother, where are you?

Elisabeth has no time for her oldest son Rudolf. He is scared in the dark and wants his mother to be with him. Instead Death comforts him (creepy!) and promises him that he'll always be there for him... the second scene is almost the same (kind of a reprise), but Rudolf is a little older now.

Lyrics:
Rudolf: Mother, where are you? Can you hear me? I need your arms around me. I know, that I can't bother you. Everybody says that you are busy. Mother, my room is so dark at night. I'm feeling cold and afraid. Who will comfort me and where do I go? Why do you leave me here alone?
Death: She doesn't hear you, don't call for her.
Rudolf: Who are you?
Death: I'm a friend. If you need some support, I will be there for you.
Rudolf: Go away!
Death: I'm nearby...
Rudolf: If I try hard enough, I'll become a brave man. Yesterday I even killed a frog...I must be hard, just like the world. But I prefer being soft in stead of being mean. Oh Mother, if I could only be with you. They are drilling me and they are so strict. There is no one to comfort me, why do you leave me here alone?

Rudolf: Mother, where are you? I need to speak with you. I need somebody here with me. I'm not allowed to play with my friends, everybody says it's the protocol. Mother, sometimes I feel like a prisoner. I want my freedom, just like you. But still you don't want your son there with you, why do you leave me here alone?
Death: She has still no time for you...
Rudolf: Why?
Death: She's busy with preparing herself...Her beauty gave her some freedom...
Rudolf: From me?
Death: I'm nearby...
Rudolf: Mother sometimes I'm feeling so rebellious, they close me off from everything. Help your son, where must I go? Why do you leave me here alone?

@musicalnumber1 Haha, beetje een late reactie, maarja. Dit zijn niet mijn beelden, maar heb thuis wel een DVD ervan, die heeft mijn zus via marktplaats gekocht, hij is daar 6 euro volgens mij. Moet je even zoeken op 'Musical DVD Elisabeth'. Succes ermee!
