Maersk Line's new Triple-E class will be the world's largest ships, a record 400 meters long and 59 meters wide.
Triple E stands for Energy efficiency, Environmental performance and Economies of scale.
Environmental performance refers to the recyclability and reuse ensured by the cradle-to-cradle passport -- and the extremely low fuel consumption.
Energy efficiency is partly derived from the unconventional hull design and the twin propulsion setup.
Economies of scale can be attributed to the capacity of more than 18.000 containers reducing the cost of moving a container by 20-30 per cent compared to other vessels in the Asia-Europe trade lane. Follow us on Facebook for more news about Maersk: http://facebook.com/maerskgroup

  • GREEDY BASTARDS HOW MANY PPL WORK ON THIS ONE...7??? ON EMA MAERSK BIGGEST ONE WORKS ONLY 13 PPL,SO SHE GET FIRE, BURNS COMMAND BRIDGE AND WHO KNOWS WHAT ELSE ?

  • @19thSFGA So name a friendlier means of product distribution, or do we just live of what we can grow in our gardens? That computer you wrote that comment on... probably container delivered, unless it's American, then it has probably stopped working.

  • When this bitch catches fire or starts dumping containers into the sea it will not be to Eco friendly. This is a floating ecological disaster just waiting to happen. This willkkeep flooding europe with more cheap chinese crap.Im glad its to big for US ports this will look great being unloaded in Rotterdam !

  • enlarge your ship!

  • @callmeshane303 yea i know have you seen the NYK super eco ship 2030 know that cares about the enviroment

  • what exactly is "environmental" in this context? lol

  • @Rico8458 they won´t go to america

  • will China fill them? and can broke american buy the junk on them?

  • And what fuel does it use? Sulphur choked residual fuel oil - the last stage of oil between tar and charcoal.

    No LNG? - why not?

If the designers are so fucking shit hot and environmentally conscious - where are the sails? Where is the giant high altitude tow kite?

There is no fucking effort at any environmental consciousness - only the lowering of fuel costs and economies of scale.

It's still a dirty piece of engineering bullshit.

  • just goes to show you how much money wallmart really makes ? cut prices ? maby but they are getting the money belive me it shows
