Electric Fields is biannual new media festival in Ottawa, Ontario, organized by Artengine and SAW Gallery.

This performance took place in a beautiful church on Friday, November 13th, 2008 at the festival
s opening event, "Electronic Evangelicals"..

Carrie Gates played no-input audio and video mixers, and Squelchbox (Sean Lamothe) played circuit bent toys that were triggered by light sensors that he made that were attached to an old Commodore 64 monitor that was playing the video mixer preview screen. Whew!

  • Wow the video feedback is strongly controlled. I love seeing screen inside screen footage.

  • @SABRENOSE You might like some of the other videos I have done with this technique, look on my channel uploads for "J + C Feedback Factory" :)

  • @CarrieGates I searched it and those videos you made were great too. If there were disc or camera sources were you using VFX and synthesizer modules?

  • Hey Carrie... you wouldn't happen to be a Max Keiser fan would you. If you are then drop me a line or two.

  • Good times!
