A flat fretboard is best for uniform low two-handed tapping action.

This video shows how easy it is to keep your Stick's fretboard flat, without even removing it from playing position.

Greg shows you how to make routine adjustments based on feel and sound, and also how to sight the instrument using a light source when more precise adjustments are required.

  • Thank you! This really helped me out... I had some dead notes on first two frets and now is perfect! :)

  • @GabrielePala Thanks for the feedback Gabriele. I love Emmett's truss design. Happy Tapping, Greg

  • Thank you Greg. I got my stick a year ago and Emmett showed me how to adjust it but never explained why.

I've been trying to play a horrible, buzzy stick for months now.

Mine has a "Double Truss Rod" I think he said.

  • @biggeorge77 The double truss is capable of some great subtlety near the nut, but it is a little more complex to adjust. If you use the visual sighting method shown in the video, you can do it, though. Each half of the truss will show its curvature clearly. Looking at the strings, untapped, there should be a slight increase in string height above the fret plane as you move from nut to 24th fret.

I hope that helps, Happy Tapping, Greg

  • It's fantastic that you're leveraging the internet to provide great advice to Stick players everywhere! Nice work.

  • @pfrields Hi Paul,

Thanks for checking out the video. This medium is just so excellent for showing people how to do things. More to come...Happy Tapping, Greg
