Today's episode of Boing Boing video is the second in a series of excerpts we're featuring from OUTLAWED, a film produced by WITNESS, in partnership with more than a dozen other human rights groups around the world. Here was our previous installment.

In this episode, we meet a German citizen named Khaled El-Masri, who survived kidnapping, extraordinary rendition, and torture at the hands of the U.S. government and foreign governments acting on its behalf. His case has been the subject of New York Times editorials and involved a widely-reported lawsuit seeking justice in the US, which was thrown out and is now on appeal.

I am American born and raised, my family has been here for many generations. It doesn't surprise me that our gov't would do something the heinous. I believe that all our gov't has shown us is truly how evil they truly are & makes me wonder who is the real devil here. It is no wonder why other country seek to harm us for we have been doing this maliciousness for apparently quite some time. I pray for all the people harmed by us. ther ought to be human rights organisations that instill actions against governments for state sanctioned, state-allowed oversights, including victims of trafficking, rape under escort agencies, innocent victims of rendition(i believe they mistook khaled as a suspect over a spelling mistake)& other swindles/abuses/mistakes...it'­s not enuf to be raped trafficked or tortured & then the state say: well dont complain, u ought to be grateful just to be alive..yr life is wrecked.most committ suicide
