And then he kissed her, taking her upper lip into his mouth. The shock that rushed through his veins was enough to knock him over, and surprisingly, the only thing keeping Nick on his feet was the frail Demi in his arms.

It took a couple seconds for Demi to register and kiss him back. She was shaky with every move her lips made, but soon, they were pulled into a rough make-out and Nick had to stop himself.

She looked at him, amused. "What?"

His hair was a mess and his face... well, his face looked as if he had just had the best sex of his life. "Nothing," he said, swallowing hard. "I just... I can't keep, you know, because..."

Demi's eyes got wide. She was scared to even kiss him. Imagine what it would be like, how long it would take, trying to have sex?

"Oh," she whispered quietly. "I-I get ittt."

He nodded and trailed his thumb down her cheek. "You did good, Dee. I knew you could do it."

Taylor's mom was shocked to hear about the loss of their baby when they got home. She had insisted on making Selena a hot bowl of soup, so that's why Selena and Abigail watched a Degrassi marathon together for the rest of the night.

Taylor ran a few errands. On his way back to the apartment after grocery shopping, he called Nick.

"Hey man, how's the baby?" Nick asked.

He blew hot air from his mouth. "Not good, dude. We lost it."

Nick hesitated. "Are you serious? How?"

"It wasn't developing right... or something like that. I'm not real sure." Taylor chewed on his lip. "Selena was upset but we've decided not to try for a baby, 'cause we're not ready for it."

Nodding, Nick agreed. "Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. Hey, maybe you guys just weren't--" In the background, Demi busted out laughing.

Taylor chuckled and let Nick go, allowing him to tend to his girl.

"What is it?" Nick asked, walking over to where Demi was holding a picture in her hand and sitting at his desk.

Demi was holding a baby picture. The child was grasping a toy car in one hand and his dirty diaper in the other, while his legs sprawled open in front of him.

"Hey!" Nick laughed and took the picture from her, blushing. "No baby deserves to be violated like that."

She couldn't help her laughter. "Ttttell that to the ppperson who ttttook it the pppicture!"

Nick was coming to realize that Demi was only struggling with certain letters now, like P and T as you may have noticed. She was coming along, and her therapist was doing a great job with her.

"When's your next session?" Nick asked, scooping her up from the chair and carrying her over to the bed.

"Ttttonight at nnnnine." She giggled and laid down, looking at him as if he should've known what was on her mind. "Come here!" Demi laughed and pulled him down next to her, and he finally got the idea.
