@jbrain93 Nope, no tail rotor. It uses the NOTAR system, which manipulates airflow over the tail boom for anti-torque, and sends a jet of air through a rotating nozzle on the end of the tail boom for yaw control.

Did he just moonie the camera man @ 0:24 great video nice chopper too.

The 900 and 902 have Notar. It's a rotor less system that uses a rotating nozzle to direct air flow created by an internal fan down the boom.
Google it, it's a pretty cool invention!

What's the deal with Jordan Flag and Arabic?
-
These things are beautiful! Where can I buy one in black? ; )
-
@adrianrubi No, in the movie Die Another Day, the helicopter was an MD-600N. Same company, different helicopter.
-
@cepv09 What makes you say that the Kaman K-Max is more quiet? Do you have any evidence?
-
its really quiet.
Is that a "remove before flight" red flag on the side of the helicopter?

hahah, one certainly hopes not! The flag was on the compressed air canister for the skid floats and the ship was brand new (still registered experimental), so I imagine it was a reminder to not try operating the floats. Nice eye!
