Wow ... haunting sound. Are the melody strings tuned all the way to F?

It's really great. Until I watched it, I had never tried anything in Dorian mode. I copied yours and I love the plaintive sound of it.

Let me know when you record more. Personally, I think it's much more useful and delightful if a less experienced player records it. You will inspire many beginners!
Your traditional style shallow box dulcimer sounds just lovely. :)

You did a wonderful job, very inspiring to me as I am just starting to play and love noter drone style. May I ask who made your shallow box dulcimer and where can I get one too. thx Mary

It is a Tennessee music box style dulcimer made by Jeff Lambert of JennyWileyDulcimers. I really like the rustic look and people at my local dulcimer club comment on its "sweet mountain sound."
Glad you liked the video. If you use a noter and aren't afraid to retune, it turns out even a beginner can make sounds the DAd only crowd has never heard before. :)

Hey what a GREAT job you did playing the TAB that I wrote of this tune! Nice touch with the quill, too. I am tickled pink that you did this and recorded it here- I'm going to post links to it so others can see how it goes as they try to learn it from my Blog tab. Thanks so much for sharing your charming lovely version with us!

Wow, thanks for the kind words bet I'm more tickled than you are, I'm just a beginner. And thanks for the great work you are doing on your blog; such a wealth of information all in one place. Keep up the good work.
I do plan to record some more of your tabs, glad you approve. Hope some of the experienced players will post some too, to show us beginners how it's really supposed to sound. ;)
