Good/Excellent Technical Bumps skiing.
Please distinguish this from Competition Freestyle Mogul skiing.

We are looking at:
1. Smooth Flow-Line
2. Quiet Upper body
3. Deflection of CoM from side to side
4. Round turn shape
5. Rhythmical
6. Powerful steering effort from the lower joints
7. Descent in the Fall-Line

  • @jtomasik If anyone didnt know yet, the best place to look for good bumps to ride is (in my experience) under chairlifts when they pas through tresections. Its generaly very steep and quite big bumps. Take a look next time you go skiing, wach out for litle treestumps that can stab you if you fall.

ONLY TRY IT IF YOUR A VERY VERY GOOD SKIER!!! DANGER DANGER DANGER!!!

  • @PMitchy72 Yeah, the bumps on many slopes at typical resorts are definitely not well formed. I just slow up when the back-sides of the bumps are completely chopped off, and I'll ski between the moguls until I find decent sections that can be skied like in videos such as this.

  • @PMitchy72 Yup agree, all these moguls are too perfect and dont seem to be on steep runs really. I'm pretty sure they wouldn't be able to ski like that on the stuff im used to

  • I would like to know the proper method for skiing moguls the size of a VW minivan. The moguls in every YouTube video I've seen are made by expert skiers skiing fast and straight. The ones I'm talking about are made by intermediate skiers and riders who piece their way down the mountain so they carve the hell out of the backside leaving only ice and increase both amplitude and period to the point you can barely see the next one when you're in the trough. You need 14' legs to absorb these!

  • yea i've been learning to ski the moguls like this. it actually helps stamina and i can go for longer periods of time without feeling the burn as bad. i find i can control my speed by scraping sorta on the backside of the mogul when i am extending. but apparently in the olympics you lose points for this and should control your speed with you crunches into the moguls, idk how that works cause i just keep going faster doing it that way

  • Rides it like a boss!

  • I was never able to keep the skies so close together, when I tried this. They would always cross, LOL.

  • Knee destruction

  • These guys are all good. I especially like it when the pace is played with, i.e. the skier slows it down than speeds up, then back down again. It shows control and ability.

  • @rshenster try hockey stopping into each mogul, if you can' extend well (but practice it until you can) try skiing the bumps with a different technique or method
