Let's Play The Space Bar 01: Two guys go into a bar...

Let us play The Space Bar, a sometimes fun, sometimes incredibly frustrating game that came in just a little late for a brief adventure/puzzle game resurgance and never made a dime. In this video, I note Steve Meretzky's name but have no idea who he is. I'll tell you eventually if you stay tuned.

Hey thanks for uploading! I bought this game when it came out but it would always fatally crash within the first 10 minutes of play, so I was cruelly enticed by it never to experience it. Can you tell me where you were able to find a working version of it for a modern OS?

@TheOruzu Bought it off Amazon. I'm playing it on a Vista machine (don't say anything, I'm embarassed enough as it is) on Windows 95 compatibility mode as an administrator. It's pretty stable...the crashes are places where The Space Bar would crash on a Windows 95 machine, not because of Vista screwing up. However, it displays in a small window in the top-left corner of my screen (fine for LPing when I need to capture a small area, but otherwise annoying) and I don't know how to change that.

@MysteriousJG thanks for the reply. Did you try changing your native resolution to deal with the "small window in the corner of the screen" problem?

Fun Fact: Steve Meretzky worked as a joint designer with Douglas Adams on the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy game from '84.

I expect we'll need to be prepared for many H2G2 references!
