SEATTLE ALASKAN WAY VIADUCT IN ITS FINAL DECADES ... SAVE THE VIADUCT! NO TUNNEL!

I've always thought the viaduct was cool.
Then again, I always thought the Kingdome was cool too.
I'm opposed to the silly tunnel because it costs too much and it doesn't actually improve on what the viaduct offers now. Its also silly to open up the waterfront for a pedestrian park because I didn't buy those two adjacent units in The Fix building and combine them when it was really cheap but I thought it was really expensive.

UW did a study and it would cost 400 million to make the viaduct earthquake proof. Why does anyone pursue that in a down economy? That's a lot cheaper than a 2 billion dollar tolled tunnel which most likely be 4 billion by the time it's done.
